With the Stichting (foundation) Stadswonen Codarts has an agreement on renting rooms. This foundation rents out agreeable rooms at reasonable prices. Bear in mind that the rooms are fitted with carpets and
curtains but are otherwise unfurnished. It is however not difficult to obtain second hand furniture, for example via the Piekfijn shops (recycled goods). You have a room to yourself but must share a kitchen, shower and toilet with one or two other students. Musical instrument practice may not always be possible because of the inconvenience this causes.

For independent accommodation, contact the information centre of the dienst Stedebouw en Volkshuisvesting of the Rotterdam Municipality, Galvanistraat 15, Rotterdam, telephone 010-4896966. This centre has information on available housing stock of the Rotterdam housing associations. Caution is advised when dealing with commercial room rental bureaus. Registration fees are often high and do not guarantee suitable accomodation. In all instances it should be possible to register the address where you plan to live with the Gemeentelijke Basis Administratie (Stadhuis). If that is not the case you are renting accom-modation illegally and risk being evicted forthwith!
